I used a utility to repair a suspected bad pst file and that was the
results, 'no data found'. Is this possible?

Roady said:Yes, this is possible since "white spaces" exist in a pst-file. Can you
still open the original file? If so; create a new pst-file and copy the
available data into the newly created pst-file.

Frank said:You might be right, another utility I tried (Winhex), opened it and it was
all zero's. I don't know how it happened because I copied all the contents
of my ...\app data\MS\Outlook folder to a cd-r and all the pst files that
I
burned are 'empty'.
How do you copy the contents to a new pst file? I'm not sure I know what
you
mean.
I'm hoping I'm doing something wrong here...
Thanks

Roady said:Sounsd like you've copied them while Outlook was still open then. This
corrupts the pst-file. If you copy the pst-file while Outlook is closed you
can restore it by copying it back to the harddrive and remove the "Read
Only" file attribute.
If the pst-file you currently have is your only copy then all data is lost.
If you still have the one before you copied it to the CD and you can start
Outlook with it you cancreate a new pst-file by File-> New-> Outlook Data
File... and then drag & drop the messages from the old to the new pst-file.
