No Earned Value with Cost Resource

Hi,

Can't seem to get Earned Value data where Cost Resources are involved. Is
this a bug, or by design,? If by design, why?

Hi SpiroT,

Did you set a baseline?
Dis you set a Status date?

The calculation of EV needs these two references.
Hope this helps,

It's by design - and I think it's based off of the original intent of using
Cost Resources to track expenses. Expenses don't really lead to EV.

That being said, I've played with using Cost Resources to track contract
commitments, which would seem to work in concept, but it doesn't drive the
EVMS calculations - as you've discovered.

I do not believe that Expense Cost resources are included in EVA, so this is
by design. As to why they are not included, I do not know. I don't work
for Microsoft, so I don't have any insider knowledge on this subject. Hope
this helps.

Sorry,

Obviously, I misread the question : "Cost" is the word that I missed. ;-(
