No English Language SpellCheck in Office Home&Student 2007

I have just discovered that MSOH&S2007 doesNOT support the English
language when used in conjunction with Outlook Express Spell Check.
Does anyone know a work-around? French is the only language selectable
in the menu.

The problem is OE uses proofing tools from Office and those from Office 2007
don't work. :-(

Some have recommended installing the proofing tools from a previous version,
BUT so far I found issues with each of my attempts.

- If you install only the proofing tools from Office XP or Office 2003 you
can't validate the installation. this results in the inability to download
anything from Microsoft since it won't pass the Genuine Advantage test. You
need to install something else that will trigger activation. This works but
I don't want to want to be forced to install something just for the sake of
proofing tools in OE nor do I want to carry a copy of Office around with me
so I can uninstall the proofing tools, download something from MS, and then
reinstall the proofing tools.

- If you install proofing tools from Office 2000 then you'll lose your
purple SmartTag underline and in every folder you access to attach a file to
an email will result in empty Outlook Email and Outlook Contacts folders.
(All attempts to delete them result in immediate repopulation).

- I didn't test the proofing tools from previous versions so they may work
but I suspect they'll have issues too.

Currently, Microsoft's recommendation is to install proofing tools from a
third party. Here's their KB article on this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974

Personally, I've been copy/pasting to Word and using it for spell checking.
(Mainly so I don't forget about it - I continue to provide feedback on this
issue every chance I get...)

Office 2007 breaks OE's spell check. Downloading a free spell check is the
simplest way around this.

Some free spell check programs.

I have had enough. I forwarded all the problems to Gateway and told
them either send me workable MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel without 3rd
party fixes or take the software back and refund my $150.
They wouldn't so I "disputed" the credit card charge and referred a
complaint to the Consumer Division of my state and to the FTC(there is
no disclaimer by computer manufacturesr that this software will NOT
work except on Vista). Apparently I am not the only user that has done
this.
Too bad Microsoft cant spend a few pennies to solve this minor issue
with a patch. The local colleges/universities have taken the product
off their bookstore shelves and posted disclaimers for computer sales
to their students.
