No Fill Color shows up in Autoshapes

I am not able to get Word to display colors in the autoshapes I draw. I can see lots of colors in the taskbar, etc, and can change the color of the font, so I dont think it is a graphics card problem. I can send the file to my other computer and the same text box shows up but with the color visible. Same thing happened with Word 2000 on this computer.. Did I inadvertantly change a setting?

Make sure that you click the image first, then from the Autoshape toolbar
choose the "Fill" color you want, but make sure that the shape is select
first.
