Hi:
I posted a plaint on the 7th of this April, subject - illegal operation, and
have seen no posted responses.
(My Word 2000 from Office 2000 Premium pops an "Illegal Operation" error
whenever I click on the File drop-down menu or hit Alt-F.
Detect and Repair, as well as complete removal and re-installation haven't
helped. For details see post from Judith M. Spencer above.)
Perhaps for such corrupted Windows Registry problems there is no cure but to
reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything. Either that, or start
paying for phone consultation from Microsoft. Alas!
Is my situation really so desperate?
