no icons in network folder?

Hi,
I have a little problem. I tried to set up a new hardware
profile recently, and in so doing, have somehow wiped my
network communications folder. All the connections still
work, but the folder shows empty. When I tried to run
network diagnostics, everything failed due to a WMI error.
I looked at the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation)
but it would not allow me access. I am an amdimistrator,
so why can I not have access? Have I changed something I
shouldn't have? Maybe in gpedit.exe? Can anyone help?

Thanks
