no longer able to update office2000

I still have win 98se,I can update windows but no longer
able to either repair or update office2000.
The system doesno't accept or activate either cd1 or cd2.

Can nay one help,could it be that the windows updating
file is corrupt?.

Can you reinstall? If you cannot remove it through
Control Panel, you should be able to execute the uninstall
string from HKLM-Software-Microsoft-Windows-Current
Version-Uninstall-{00020409.....}-UninstallString. Change
the msiexec.exe /i to msiexec.exe /x and you can place
a /q on the end to execute the uninstall in quiet mode.
