No longer download messages via outlook

I find that i can no longer download messages, even thoughmy account setting
are correct, (Outlook Expresss has no problems using the same settings!!!).
problems seemed to manifest themselves after installing XP SP2 and some
other fixes.

Try turning off the Windows firewall and see if that changes anything.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that shouldn't be the problem, as I always
have the firewall on, and no problems have been encountered previously...

But you yourself stated: "problems seemed to manifest themselves after
installing XP SP2". One of the big things in SP2 was changes to the
firewall, so what can it hurt to try my suggestion?

I'm having the same problems. Outlook 2002 was working great until tonight
when I pushed send/recieve and a dialog box came up that said: The operation
failed. Then I have to hit ok and that's that.

I tired turning off the XP firewall but that didn't help.
