No mail up or down

If I hit send and receieve nothing happens. I have used
the test function and that works: e-mail goes to my
server and back, but my server is loaded with mail that
doesn't come down. I have asked 3 questions about
Outlook, so now I am not deemed worthy to seek help. I
heard the developer of Outlook say he was the most hated
person at MS. Add me to the list

Do you have any error messages? Which version of outlook? Which OS?

Tools, send/receive, send/receive settings, show progress... you can see the
error messages there.
