No More Cut and Paste

I just read a post, that is no longer active, about "NO MORE CUT AND PASTE" feature in Excel for the MAC (2008). The originator of the post was having the same difficulty I'm currently experiencing with Excel for the MAC. Heres the problem in a nutshell:

I'm trying to copy and paste data with hyperlinks into an office for the Mac Excel spreadsheet using the copy and paste feature. Each time I paste the data it appears as text with no link capability. I've tried the paste special feature but that doesn't work either (no options to paste except as text or unicode text). This process works fine when I copy and paste the same data to any windows version of excel (the exception maybe that I use IE on the windows side and Safari or FF on the MAC side). Has anyone else had this problem and is there a work around for Excel for Mac??????

Thanks for your help

I'd strongly suggest that you not take someone's cry of despair in a
newsgroup & interpret it as an announcement of fundamental features being
removed from leading programs :) Did you also read the replies to that
individual from John McGimpsey?

Excel's Copy/Cut-Paste functionality in 2008 has not changed. What has
changed is what gets copied in browsers... it's the source application that
determines what goes to the clipboard. The target application can only paste
from aht has been copied or cut. Depending on your browser you might try
Control/Right-Clicking the selected content to see what copy options are
available.
