No object in MAPI control

Steve Jensen

I have an Access application that has been in use for a number of years,
which uses MAPI 6.0 session and messages controls on a number of forms. I
upgraded the app to Access 2007 and the existing forms with MAPI controls
seem to work fine.

Recently I created a new form and added the MAPI session and MAPI messages
controls. It compiles fine, and I do not get any errors on my test machine;
however, one of my customers reports that when opening the form, he gets
"There is no object in this control." twice before the form opens. Oddly, he
can open the other existing forms containing the same controls without errors.

I would say it was a registration issue except that it only affects that one
form.

I've never been very happy with MSMAPI32.ocx, to say nothing of the object
model guard, but have not found any other MAPI activeX controls to replace
it. So what is going on here, and how can I fix the problem?
