No Outlook 2007 "Out Of Office" and I'm connected to exchange serv

I'm connected via PPTP on my office exchange server, can send and receive
messages, no problems. The "Out of Office" message is not showing in my
menu. My Outlook 2007 shows I'm connected to the exchange server. I have
tried the repair on the install CD while connected to exchange no help.

One item I was using Outlook 2003 prior and had no problem using the "out of
office" service. Also when I upgraded to Office 2007 at the time I did the
upgrade I was not connected on the PPTP connection or exchange at that time.
Could that cause thsi isssue?

Any help is welcome
