No Outlook bar = no quick 'new message'

I miss the office shortcut bar but I could live with it EXCEPT that none of
the solutions (i.e. quick launch, shortcut folders, etc) provide a way to
replace the old 'new message' button. I hit a bump in the road each time I
have to go into Outlook and THEN open a new message -

Create a shortcut that uses the following Target:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /c ipm.message

But... since it's unlikely that your outlook.exe is located in the same
place as mine, adjust the location of outlook.exe accordingly.

Once this shortcut has been created, you can drag it to the quick launch, or
wherever. Heck you can even create your own "shortcut bar" (right-click the
windows task bar and choose Toolbars - New Toolbar, etc.

Other useful Outlook /c ipm.xxxx switches are:

a.. /c ipm.activity creates a Journal entry
b.. /c ipm.appointment creates an appointment
c.. /c ipm.contact creates a contact
d.. /c ipm.note creates an e-mail message
e.. /c ipm.stickynote creates a note
f.. /c ipm.task creates a task
(the above are from Outlook's Help file)

Good luck!

Create a task /c ipm.task

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
