'no port' error

My FrontPage 98 comes up with notice "no server on port 80 at 'home' and I can't open any of my existing web pages. What is going on?? Thanks

About the only time I saw that with 98 was
when another program had claimed port 80.
Have you by any chance installed Yahoo IM??
It claims port 80 for it's P2P file sharing program.
If so shut it down and then try.
Also set it to *not* automatically load at Start Up.

Do you have the Web Server started either via the Control Panel or the globe
in the task bar.

FP98 uses PWS web server, which must be started before you try opening a
web.

No, I didn't have the PWS started (it was turned off in windows startup!) - I have started it and all is up and running again. Thanks alot for the help!

Note: If PWS is turned off when you exit Windows 98, then it will not
restart when you next start Windows.
