No selection to create profile after install

I installed Outlook 2000 but when I go to Start > Settings

Control Panel > Mail, there is no selection or way to

create a profile. Just the Internet Connection Wizard
comes up.

Sounds like you have configured OUtlook 2000 for Internet Mail Only mode. Whether that's good or bad depends on what kind of mail server(s) you need to connect to. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/choosingmode.htm
