No speech recognition in Office 2007?

It's not there. Windows owns this now. Look into the Speech SDK for XP
or look into Vista.

ah

I installed it, it seemed to install, I didn't get any message to tell me it
did not but where is it? I rebooted thinking that it would appear in my
Control Panel under Speech but it is still the same as before, text to
sppeach only has Sam's voice and nowhere I can record my own voice's pattern.
I also looked in Accessories Communication, nothing.

Hi Ah,

In the Windows control panel check
Speech=>Speech Recognition
and
Regional and Language Options=>Language=>Text Services=>[Details]

for settings for Speech Recognition.

Dictation of text will likely work, but the 'commands' mode may not with the Speech Recognition v5.1 engine from the SDK if you
have no Office 2003 products installed with Office 2007.

Hi Ah,

Did you do the voice recordings while in Office 2003 then? It's possible that the upgrade removed the linkage to the old speech
files when it removed the feature. There wasn't a speech profile backup tool provided by Office, but you may want to use this 'as
is' tool from the MS Speech folks to see if it locates the prior profile for you as still being available.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I had done all that but nowhere I can find the
place I had recorded my voice reading what was posted on the screen in order
to train the computer to recognise it. I should have Office 2003 somewhere
in my computer, because I had bought it but since I downloaded 2007 to test
it, 2003 has disappeared. The only 2003 applic I have left is FrontPage. >>
