Non-enterprise mode

I'm evaluating the Project EPM solution and have looked at the application in
Enterprise mode. I'd now like to take a look at it in non-enterprise mode to
see whether a cut down version would be better suited to my firm. After
changing to non-enterprise mode I can no longer seem to log into Project
Professional. I believe I've checked all permissions and can't see any
obvious reason why this is.

I've also re-installed Project Server in non-enterprise mode and connected
back to my original database, but still can't log into project professional.

Has anyone tried this before and if so, are there any additional settings I
need to change. My only other option is to scratch what I've built so far
and start again.

Thanks for your help!

Non-enterprise mode means you CANNOT use any of the following features:

1. Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional
2. Save projects in the Project Server database
3. Save resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool
4. Access the Build Team from Enterprise Wizard
5. Access the Resource Subsitution Wizard

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information Dale it was very helpful. However, if you cannot
do all the things you've listed, then is there a point to having a
non-enterprise mode and if so, am I missing it?

The reason I'm looking into this mode is because we don't have many users
who will need this software, therefore at the moment, it seems it would be
overkill to go for the full enterprise mode. Also, the thinking at the
moment is that the additional cost of the training/administration required in
order to use this software to it's full potential is high.

Can anyone please advise where I can find literature discussing this mode,
rather than the enterprise mode. I'd like if poss, to provide my managers
with the pros and cons of using the software (including non-enterprise mode).

Many thanks
