non-numbering of headings & indents

In Word 2003, text was allowed in place of numbering. For example, the text
strings Advantages, Disadvantages, and Comments could be assigned Headings
3,4, & 5. One could also specify indents for both the first and subsequent
lines of the headings independently. How can one achieve this in Word 2007?

You can still do this, assuming that you are setting up a multilevel
(outline) list. On the Home tab, click Multilevel List, and then click
Define New Multilevel List. You'll see a dialog box similar to the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog in Word 2003 (and the instructions at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html are still
useful).
