Nonbreaking space and hyphen confusion

An alert, I think...

The MSW2008 help file for keyboard shortcuts specifies "option-spacebar" for a nonbreaking hyphen. This is wrong; option-spacebar gives a nonbreaking space.

The MSW2008 help file for keyboard shortcuts does not mention nonbreaking spaces.

The correct MSW2008 keyboard shortcut for a nonbreaking hyphen is "splat-shift-hyphen".

If you have on-line Help enabled, click the "No" button under "Was this
information helpful" at the bottom of the Help window. That will allow
you to provide feedback directly - and along with it, the possibility
that it can be corrected in short order for all users.

Thanks, JE

Indeed I have and I did - but that doesn't help a n y other users until the correction appears, which might be ... At least this Mactopia channel is generally accessible.

Genuine thanks for your input, LT - please know that MacBU is fervently
working at improving & correcting the Help throughout Mac Office I certainly
can't speculate on when that particular edit will be made, but I can assure
you that your finding won't fall on deaf ears:)

Hi Lindsay:

It's better than it appears. The "Online" help is being vigorously
improved.

They can update online help within a matter of hours.

Currently, they are working on a mechanism to do the same thing for the
offline help, but that will not be available until the next version or the
one after.

So we have to wait for a Service Pack to get updates to the offline help.

Cheers
