normal.dot is default macro record location

I run MS Word 2003.
When I have a document open /Tools/Macro/Record New Macro ...
puts me in the Record Macro Dialog.
In that, "Store macro in:" allows me to choose between "All Documents
(Normal.dot)" and the active document and defaults to normal.dot.

I rarely want to record normal.dot macros; I often do so by mistake.

Can somebody advise on switching the order, so the active document is
the default macro record location?

As far as I know, you cannot change the default location for recorded
macros. :-(
