Normal.dot is not being created Word 2003

Wnen new macros or even autotext entries are made, I am not prompted to save
to my normal.dot. When I close out and reopen Word, the macros and new
autotext are not there.
If I create the macro and then open vb editor then the modules and save to
normal, then close/reopen word the macro is there. But I have to do this
every time.
There is not a server application that overwrites the normal.dot.
Any suggestions, I also have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 running. Thanks!

The Acrobat 7.0 Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for Word prevents
Word from automatically saving changes to the normal.dot template
(which is where Word stores macros and autotext unless you tell
Word otherwise). Create the macros and autotext again, and click
"Shift+File | Save All" to force Word to save the normal.dot
template. Alternatively, you can prevent the add-in from loading
as described in the last section of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm , but
you'll lose the PDF toolbar if you do this.
