Normal.dot Problem After Installing Office 2003

Joe

I am running XP Home with the Corporate Version of Norton Anti Virus.
Yesterday I installed Office 2003. Now I cannot open any Word docs and it
keeps referring me to a Normal.dot problem. When I check in the templates,
there is a file there that I cannot delete called TBRUN9.dot which I suspect
is part of the problem. Please help if you have a solution.
P.S. The NAV Corporate version is unlike other versions in that it will not
bring you to an "Options" selection.....cheers......Joe

TBRUN9.dot comes from your TextBridge OCR software. From the name, I would
guess it was intended for Word 9 (Word 2000) and may not work correctly with
Word 2003. If you don't need it, remove it from Word's Startup folder. As
for NAV, if it was installed at one time then the DLL for the Office Plug-in
could still be registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. It does
not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
