normal style always italicized

I was wondering if anyone would happen to know why the
normal template is always in italics (even though the
toolbar doesn't show it that way). I even build another
style using the same font and pitch, but same results) I
even reloaded office, but still the same

Make sure you still have the "Regular" version of your default font (Times
New Roman unless you've changed it); the font file may be missing or
damaged.
