NormalEmail.dotm template not working

Hi, I'm trying to get Outlook to open with a certain format for text,
and I've tried exiting Outlook, editing the NormalEmail.dotx in Word,
and restarting. The changes don't seem to take. Even when I type a
word (like "test") in the template and save it, new emails don't
include it and are just like always. Anyone have any ideas what's
going wrong?

That is not the way. Why are you trying to do this the hard way instead of
Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Format-> Stationery and Fonts...

Because I want to use not just a single font but an entire Word Style
Set. I couldn't figure out how to do that through the stationery
settings. Is there a way?
