not all songs work on laptop

iam running xp with pp 2002, i net work to a laptop with
xp and pp 2002. My question is when i put audio into my
pp the audio worked(then used would use the song) now i
have downloaded the sp2 and seems that the audio works on
desktop but when networked to laptop not all of the audio
works. But the audio works on desktop, nothing has
changed in the way i network. iam using media 10. Also
the local computer shop asked me to check media player
that power point uses, when this song is opened up it
works but not when inserted to pp on laptop.
any suggestion would be appreciated.

Tell us more about the file formats. Are some of them WAV files and some MP3 or
WMA? Which ones seem to work?

Where are the audio files saved? Are they on the desk top or the laptop or
both?

When you are testing a presentation on the laptop, was it created from scratch
on the laptop, or do you create the presentations on the desktop and move them
to the laptop?
