I was not clear in my question.....

What I want to do is subtract hours from todays date to get a new
date:

For example if today is Feb 14, 2006 and someone has worked 12354 hrs,
and a work day is 7 hours......I want to convert every 7 hrs into a
"day" and subtract the "days" from the current date in order to give me
a date that the person started work. Thanks!

12354 hours is 12354/7 days. If the number is not exactly divisible,
then I believe it should be FLOOR(12354/7,1) days.

It would be simple to just subtract this value from a cell containing
the date

=A1-FLOOR(12354/7,1)

However, you probably need to take into account a 5-day working week
and holidays. In this case you should use:

=WORKDAY(A1, -FLOOR(12354/7,1), D39)

where D39 is a range containing holidays.

=TEXT(TODAY()-INT(A1/7),"mmm/dd/yyyy")

Put the number of hours worked in A1

Well then...

If 12354 is in A1 (your hours)
then in C1 put =INT(A1/7) your "days"
In D1 put =TODAY()

Finally in E1 put:
=DATE(YEAR(D1),MONTH(D1),DAY(D1)-C1) whcih gives your date in the past
