Not enough memory to open attachments

I am receiving a message of: There is not enough memory or disk space to
complete the operation. I am only trying to open a word document attachment.
Has anybody seen this error and can you help me fix it.

The first thing I would do if I received this message, is
Close all open programs on your computer and
Reboot your computer.

Sometimes our memory just gets gobbled up and a
reboot will clear it all out.
