Not Printing zeros and no dates

In a report, is there a parameter to set so that zeros will not print and
12/31/1899 will not show when there is no date?

Thank for the reply.

I finally decided that since I was calling a function to return the date or
currency, I just changed the return to a string and formatted that to a short
date or to "" if zero.
