NOT-RESPNDG ERROR ACCESSNG HIGHER FOLDERS EXCEL AND WORD

O

URGENT OFFICE EFFICIENCY PROBLEM.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN A HIGHER LEVEL FOLDER FROM WORD OR EXCEL THE DELAY
IS INTERMINABLE...OVER THREE MINUTES...OR ONE GETS "APPLICATION NOT
RESPONDING" MSG. SOMETIMES ONE CAN WORK PAST THE ERROR MSG.
THIS IS SERIOUS ENOUGH, TOO MUCH LOST PRODUCTION, THAT WE MUST CONSIDER
GOING TO ANOTHER SUITE...E.G. WORD PERFECT ET AL.
OUR CONSULTANT HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM AT OTHER CUSTOMER SITES.
IT SEEMS THAT MS, AS A RESULT OF ONLINE ERROR FEEDBACK, WOULD HAVE
RESPONDED WITH A FIX OR, AT LEAST, A BULLETIN.

First, you need to learn about netiquette and how your CapsLock
key works. There is no need to SHOUT at the people from whom you
ask help.

Second, please do not post your Question (which is what you're
asking if you want an answer) as a "Suggestion for Microsoft".

Third, the question you posed has already been asked and answered
many times in these Word, Excel, and Office newsgroups. You and
your consultant should try searching these newsgroups for similar
questions before posting your own redundant question. The usual
solution: Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows
desktop, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect
any mapped drives that are not currently available.
