Not working: "Send to OneNote" Education pack

E

Emir

Hi everyone.

This problem is turning me insane. I have a Tablet pc(HP tc4200) and I used
to be able to use the "Send to OneNote" software from the Education Pack to
send pdfs to OneNote.

Last week I've reformatted/reinstalled everythink, and "Send to OneNote"
simply stopped working. If I print from pdf I get and error message ("Could
not start print job"). If I try this from Word or IE I get "Windows cannot
print due to a problem with the current printer setup."

I tried the "IE send to onenote" powertoy and it works fine. As is normal
paper printing. Suggesting that the problem seems to reside with the
SenToOnenote EduPack software.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Try going into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs, find the entry for
Microsoft Education Pack for Tablet PC. Select the line, and it will give
you the option to Change, select that button. Your choice, you can either
try a Repair (continue on the first screen) or Modify to remove the Send to
OneNote portion. Either way, make sure to restart your system after the
changes.

Hi Chris,

I've repaired the install, and even uninstalled it and reinstalled it from
scratch (all with the due rebooting) and nothing changed.

I don't recall exactly (not enough coffee yet), have you installed .NET 1.1
and the SP1 update on your system yet? I may be confusing the Entertainment
Pack with the Education Pack, but believe you need that, and updated, too.
Which Tablet PC are you on?

Chris,

The software comes from the Education Pack, so that is installed. I have an
HP tc4200 Tablet pc and it's as up-to-date as it can get. I have the .NET1.1
and the .NET2.0 and all the updates/hotfixes to date, including SP2. The
software worked fine prior to my clean intall.

I tried printing a test page from the driver (Printers and Faxes ---> "Send
To OneNote 2003" properties --->Print test page) and I get an error message
"Test page failed to print"

Under the Printers ad Faxes folder I have:
- Adobe PDF
- Fax
- Journal Note Writer
- Macromedia Flaspaper
- Microsoft Office Document Image Writer
- PDF-XChange 3.0
- Send to OneNote 2003

Okay, in Printers and Faxes, right-click the Send to OneNote 2003 icon and
select Properties. On the General tab toward the bottom, tap on Printing
Preferences... then what are the settings on each tab - Image and OneNote?
Mine are: Image, Medium (200 x 200 dpi), Portrait orientation; and OneNote,
Create a single OneNote page for the entire file. Files are sent to My
Documents\My Notebok\Sent Files.one.

Also toward the bottom of the General tab, tap on Print Text Page. What are
the results?

I have exactly the same settings as you on the printing preferences. When I
click on "Print Test Page" I get an error message saying "Test page failed to
print. Would you like to view the troubleshooter for assistance? Yes/No"

I tried printing test pages from all the other drivers and each one of them
works fine.

OneNote wasn't open when I tried printing. I also tried with OneNote open and
I get the same error.

Sorry, but I'm out of ideas. I'll check around and post back if I find out
anything else. You have restarted your system in-between these processes,
correct? Like after you've done a Repair in Add or Remove Programs?

Of course. I've rebooted the computer at each install/change of settings.
Thanks for all the help anyway.

Do you happen to have TweakUI installed on your system? Just a wild guess,
since without knowing what you have installed is difficult at best.
