Notebook Layout View: No page width zoom, cheesy backgrounds

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I just upgraded to Word 2008 and I just want to vent. I can't believe there's no page width zoom in Notebook Layout View.

I also really hate the forced view of cheesy backgrounds like woodgrain, leather and titanium. I want to outline and take notes--not to see the tacky interior design preferences of Microsoft engineers.

There is. The zoom panel is in the default toolbar (if you can't see it,
click on the pill-shaped button in the upper right corner of the window).

There's not much you can do about this; just toy around with the different
background settings until you have found one that is not as garish as the
others.

Nope, Andy's right :) When using NBL View there are only four Zoom values
in the list: 100%, 125%, 150% & 200%. The typical options for greater &
lesser amounts as well as Page Width, Whole Page & Two Pages are excluded.

However, you can type in any value from 100-200.

On a related note, Zoom is inactive in the View menu in a NBL doc.

Hi Bob,

of course, you and Andy are right. I must have misunderstood Andy's original
question.
