notebook run out of battery

May i know what settings do i need after Office 2007 B2 installed as i found
the battery running out faster then i was using Office 2003.

Also, i'm using NOD32 antivirus, NOD icon did not show on the lower right
hand conner.

Furthermore, the intel pro wireless icon and a battery status icon cannot
show at the lower right hand conner even i manually run those programmes.

Please help!! Many Thanks!!

notebook configue:
OS: WIndows XP for tablet PC 2005 Version 2002 sp2 english
CPU: Intel Centrino 1.6GHz
Chipset: Intel 825/855
Memory: 2G

Thanks Bob I, but can Office 2007 be configurated thus optimized for
notebook? And will other bugs be fixed?

Office 2007 will probably be less CPU/memory/hard drive intensive (and
hence uses less power) in its release version compared to B2. Currently
it is in beta, so you'll have no choice but deal with how it works right
now.
Microsoft will of course fix a lot of the bugs before release, which is
about half a year from now.
