Notepad-Edit Menu

I am using the notepad text editor for my studies with javascript and and I
am getting error messages with specific lines and characters, but on the edit
menu the goTo option isn't highlighted...how do I activate this feature? The
view and toolbar reset options are not available with notepad...

Help!!

Not really an Office related question but, you need turn off word wrap
in order to enable the Go To command.
