Nothing happens when I right click in Word 2007

I'm having a bit of an issue with Word 2007 not responding with the normal
dialog box when I right click. The program doesn't respond to them in any
way. Also, I can't click on anything in the dialog box that opens when I
click the Office Logo in the corner and when I try to close it stops
responding, every time. It started malfunctioning about 5 days ago. I tried
a system restore as well as uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing has
worked.

There's been a rash of this recently. I suspect it has something to do with
a recent update. People have reported success in eliminating the problem,
however, by deleting the Data key in the registry, which is located here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
