Notices do not post to calendar

whatever

When I receive a meeting invitation the email arrives with the normal
information, but it does not post to my calendar or identify itself as an
invitation.

I looked around the calendar options and noted that the resource scheduling
button is grayed out.

if the item is a normal email item, the sender is not sending it as a
meeting request or it's getting converted to normal email. This could either
be on the senders end or by your mail server.

A bit more background informaiton:

I use 2 PCs in my home that are connected through a wireless router. The
desk top PC picks up meeting invitations and posts them to my outlook
calendar. The lap top PC; however, treats the invitation as normal mail and
does not request a reply or add the event to the lap top's calendar.

Consequently, when the desk top is off and an invitation reaches the lap top
I loose the option to process the note as an invitation.

Any thoughts on how to tweek the lap top to get it in line?

addresses?

The PCs are reading different emails, but 100% of the invitations reaching
the desk top come in as invitations while in the case of the lap top it is 0%.

The emails are coming from the same set of senders in the same corporation.
I am now running Office 2003 on both machines, but still have the problem.
