Notification e-mails with the Europe Date Format

Dear reader

Why the e-mail notification process in Project Server 2002
is not able to send Swiss French or Swiss German
notification e-mails with the Europe Date Format
(dd/mm/yyyy)?

Hi Philipp,

Hopefully someone else can give you a more definitive answer, but I believe
this is fixed by setting the clock settings on the Server
(Start->Settings->Control Panel->Regional and Language Settings).

Actually this is a bug in the system...

The system takes the date format from the region setting
in each users email subscription settings (and the only
available option is US (from memory).

The fix is a hot fix from microsoft - you will need to
contact support for this (should be a free support
incident though).

Be VERY careful applying this hot patch - make sure you
completely backup the entire system and embargo data
entry - it is possible that the system will fail. Once
you have applied the patch, you have to update the
Sharepoint account settings - stswiz.exe? If you do not
do this before a user attempts to do a web login, their
web controls will not work properly, and you will have to
remove all controls from their browser and try again.
