Notification

Is there a way to get a notification in the right corner when you have mail
without having to have outlook open all the time? I would like to have it
minimize or out of sight until I get new mail. I have to open it up before I
am told that I have a new message.

Outlook must be open to run.

Please note that this utility, and all others that will allow for
notifications, open Outlook in the background.

As indicated here weekly, Outlook must be open, in some fashion, even if
minimized, to run.

I have my Outlook minimized all the time, and get notified with a little
envelope icon in the right hand side of the system tray when new mail comes
in.

In 2003, if you right-click the Outlook icon in the Systray, there's a "Hide
when minimized" option. It seems this would meet your requirement to "have
it minimize or out of sight until I get new mail." You'll still be notified
of new messages.
