Notifications contain deadline dates?

Hi Everybody,

Is there any way NOT to set a Start or Finish date for a
Task, and just set a
** Deadline**?
Like when you go to the Task Information / Advanced tab
and you can set a deadline. We don’t care when people
start the task we just don’t want them to miss the
Deadline. We would also like the Notifications include
the** Deadline date** not the start and finish of the task.

is this possible?
Thanks in advanced,
Alisa

In Microsoft Project, every task must have a Start date and a Finish date.
Do know this, however: your Start date for each task is the "estimated"
date when you believe work will begin on the task. When a team member
enteres Actual Work for the task in their timesheet in PWA, then the system
will calculate the Actual Start date for the task and change the Start date
to match the Actual Start date. The Finish date for the task will be
recalculated accordingly. Hope this helps.

Thank you Dale for the reply,
You mentioned that the finish date will be calculated, but
what if you have a deadline in your project? How can the
date be changed when the task has to be finished on a
certain day?

You can still use the Deadline date feature for tasks that have a deadline.
Hope this helps.
