Number format in text cell

I need to import a number from a cell, adding to the text as follows.

="the projection for the year is $"&C36(cell location).

However, i need to format the number with a thousand comma(,) where it is
currently shown as a text ($1234 vs $1,234)

can someone please help?

="the projection for the year is "&TEXT(C36,"$#,###")
