Number of 1st's between two dates

Hello all, please can you help.

I have a number of learners on a programme that start at different times of
the year. I want to be able to count the number of 1st's of each month that
they are in learning.

For example, If someone starts on the 15th Jan and leaves on the 15th March
the count would be 2 because they were in learning on the 1st Feb and 1st
March

Thanks

You could use DateDiff():

DateDiff("m",#1/15/2005#, #3/15/2005#) would yield 2.

but,

DateDiff("m",#1/1/2005#, #3/1/2005#) would yield 2 also.

Play around w/ this concept 'til you get what you want.

A guru here immediately answered, "12". The poster wrote back and asked,
"12??. How the @&$%# do you get 12? The wise guru replied, "January second,
