Number of graphics rule of thumb?

Practically speaking, what is your rule of thumb for
length of document and number of graphics?

I have a 150 page Word document with 66 gif graphics
inserted. I know the Word doc size limit something like 45
meg (this doc is 2,776 KB)but it is slow and I've noticed
some glitchy things that I've been able to repair (like a
left margin moving out).

I say if your document is slow and experiencing issues
then you might want to trim it down some OR publish the
doc to a pdf or html format.

The file size limit (which is 32 MB) does not include graphics--just
text--so that is not an issue. You can improve performance by working in
Normal view and enabling "Picture placeholders" on the View tab of Tools |
Options.
