Number of pages changes

I'm running Word 2000 under Windows 98 on three PCs.

I've a Word document on PC 1 that has 49 pages.

I copied the document to PCs 2 and 3. On PC 2 the file
has 78 pages, whilst on PC 3 it correctly has 49 pages.

Why is the layout of the same document different from PC
to PC and how can I bring them in line?

I've copied normal.dot from PC 1 to PC 2 to rule that out
already.

The link you suggest explains that the problem could be
caused by different printers on the three PCs but they
all share the smae printer and have exactly the same
printer driver installed and it is the default on all
three.

Differences in video card, video driver, screen resolution and refresh rate
can affect the page layout. So too do differences in printer drivers and
their settings. This can be exacerbated by manual page breaks, as Suzanne
suggests.
