I have a report with a header with a Training Class name. Under that in the
detail it lists all employees that have attended the training class. I want
to simply # each entry. How do I do this?

Right now the report looks like:

Training: New Hire

Name:
Bob Smith
Terry Miller
Beth White

I want it to look like this:

Training: New Hire

Name:
1.) Bob Smith
2.) Terry Miller
3.) Beth White

A runingSum text box is a text box with its RunningSum
property set to Over All (or Over Group). A running sum of
the value 1 is just a counter.
