Numbering in Appendices not appearing in TOC

I have been told to not number my Appendix pages - which is easy - BUT how
can I insert an automatic Table of Contents that will show my Appendix A but
not have a page number showing (since there isn't one there anyway)???

Thanks...

The way I do this is to use separate headings for the appendixes (different
heading levels from the ones used for the main body of the document), then
add a separate Appendix TOC (without numbers) at the end of the main TOC.
With careful formatting, the TOC appears to be continuous.

Thnaks Suzanne
but i thought you could only have one TOC per document AND the page numbers
appear automatically and I can't seem to turn them off

Thanks again Suzanne I have been able to create the two TOCs with the second
one having no numbers how do you put them closer together though - i have a
big enter mark there which i can't delete without deleting the whole second
TOC I have learnt something new .... i didn't realise you could have two
tocs in the one doc

You can create multiple tables of contents in a document, via the
Index and Tables dialog box. Specify the desired options for your new
TOC. Specifically, to exclude page numbers, clear the "Show page
numbers" option. When you are done, click the OK button; when Word
asks if you want to replace the existing TOC, just click "No," and it
will insert a new one at the insertion point.

For an existing TOC, you can omit page numbers by adding the \n switch
to the TOC field code. For more, see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/TOCSwitches.htm.

Display field codes by pressing Alt+F9. Also display nonprinting
characters by pressing the Show/Hide ¶ button on the Standard toolbar.
You'll now see something like this:

{ TOC }¶ <--- Format this paragraph mark as 1 pt
{ TOC }

If more than one paragraph mark (¶) separates the two TOC fields,
delete all of them but one. Format the remaining paragraph mark in 1
pt font size. Press Alt+F9 again to redisplay field results.
