numbering odd pages sequentially

Dot Whie

I am creating an instructor's training manual. I want the
even pages unnumbered where the instructor notes will
appear. I want the odd pages numbered sequentially where
the student notes will appear. Can this be done in Word?

Yes, it can, but be aware that if you need to generate a TOC, it will not
pick up the correct page numbers. On the Layout tab of Page Setup, choose
"Different odd and even." This will give you separate odd and even headers
and footers. Leave the Even Page Header/Footer blank (or at least omit the
page number). In the Odd Page Header, insert the following field:

{ = ({ PAGE } + 1)/2 }

Each pair of field delimiters (the things that look like braces but can't be
entered from the keyboard) must be inserted using Ctrl+F9 (although you can
use the Insert Page Number button on the Header and Footer toolbar to insert
the { PAGE } field).
