Numbering

Word 2000 version.
I am trying to have paragraphs that have auto-numbering such a below:

1. Heading 1 style
1.1 Heading 2 style
(1) Paragraph 1 style
(2) Paragraph 1 style
(a) Paragraph 2 style
(b) Paragraph 2 style
(i) Paragraph 3 style
(ii) Paragraph 3 Style
(3) Paragraph 1 style
1.2 Heading 2 style
(1) Paragraph 2 style
etc.

On MVP site
(http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/WordsNumberingExplained.htm) it
mentions that Outline List has a ‘paragraph level and has an example which I
want to match. MVP calls this ‘default outline list’, which I cannot find
anywhere!

Also, I cannot find the Outline List Paragraph level function this site
mentions!

I have got the paragraph numbering working by applying the same outline
‘box’ that the heading use and applying them to, say level 5 if I have four
levels of Headings. This works except when I want a paragraph of text
between the item 1. and item 1.1 (as above) then the number for item 1.1
changes to 1.2! And I cannot get it to revert back to 1.1 which it should be.
Word is assuming that the numbered paragraph between affects the next
Heading.

Help me please.
