Numbers automatically change to a symbol

I am creating a chart & when I type a cetain number into a cell once i move
to the next cell Excel automatically changes it to #####.

How do I stop this??

Hi Bulldog Mama,

Try widening the relevant column(s).

You can go to *_Format/Column/Width__ * and adjust the width of your
column until the "######" disappears.
