Using PP and PWA 2007.
I have a need to analyze duration info numerically and have been
unsuccessful with custom fields so far. Specifically I need to:
1. calc baseline contingency (deadline - base finish)
2. calc actual contingency (deadline - finish)
3. calc contingency exhausted (item 1 - (1-2))
4. calc percent contingency exhausted (item 3 / item 1)
5. calc timeline saving opportunities (duration - leveling delay)
In the past, I have tried the datediff and projdatediff functions when
creating custom number fields for these needs. These failed miserably when
attempting to import to enterprise causing metadata sync issues and think
this is due to data type mismatches. Boiling it down, I want to find a way
to convert duration to a number so I can perform simple math via custom
number fields in PP and PWA. Ideas?
