-> O2010: Some HTML messages crash Outlook : HELP

S

Steve JORDI

Hi,
I have Outlook 2010 and for the last two weeks, some html formatted
email immediately crash Outlook as soon as I try to open them, preview
them or reply to them.

Once Outlook restarts, it disables the preview pane. As soon as I put
it back, it crashes again.

It looks like it's only certain messages, mainly from Skype and the
ones from the iTunes store...
This is at work, under XP Pro and with McAfee antivirus (crashes even
if disabled)

If I transfer those message to my Outlook at home (Win7) they cause
no troubles.
This is Win7 Ultimate 32-bit, and Norton AntiVirus. No problems.

Any idea why?
Any way to track down what's causing the crash?

Thanks for any help.

Sincerely,

Sounds like an add-on that you installed (either a new install or an
add-on left installed when you migrated to a newer version of Outlook)
that is incompatible with that version of Outlook.

Have you tried loading Outlook in its safe mode which does NOT load any
enabled add-ons that you installed?

outlook.exe /safe

All that should go into a signature (i.e., delimited by the "-- " line).
Signatures should remain at 4 lines, or less, in length. No need to
readvertize your e-mail address since you chose to include the same
munged copy in the From header. Just leave the not of what to remove
from the munged e-mail address. Note that advertising your site which
is off-topic to the newsgroup is considering spamming. That you're
proud of it doesn't make it on-topic. No one is interested in your
choice for a career. Your moniker is already in the From header for
others to see in their newsreaders. You can severely shorten your
signature down to just 2 lines, as in:

That's also what I first thought but no add-in are installed.
The addin-com tab shows only one, VBA, but it's disabled.

It crashes only on iTunes and Skype messages, not all the HTML
messages.

It crashes the same way when in safe mode.
When I sync my mailbox with the one at home, those messages have
no problems on my home computer...
Strange. But then I can't use Outlook anymore at work :-(
