Object Library Not Registered

When I open some spreadsheets created on a PC I get a message about
converting a meta file, then and error Object Lbrary Not Registered and the
spreadsheet does not open. Is there any fix for this ?

If you're using XLv.X, try deleting your

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:Carbon Registration Database
